EUDR MAYACERT VERIFIED ® is a program created by MAYACERT, aligned with the European Union Regulation on Deforestation-Free Products 2023/1115. This program ensures that all operators and traders comply with the obligations established under this regulatory framework.
The United Nations establishes the purpose of actively contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), recognizing the crucial importance of halting deforestation and restoring degraded forests. This effort is essential to achieve the SDGs, particularly those related to life on land (SDG 15), climate action (SDG 13), responsible consumption and production (SDG 12), zero hunger (SDG 2), and good health and well-being (SDG 3). To implement the SDGs, Europe created Regulation (EU) 2023/1115, concerning the placing on the Union market and the export from the Union of certain commodities and products associated with deforestation and forest degradation, repealing Regulation (EU) 2010/995. It establishes rules regarding the placing and making available on the Union market, as well as the export from the Union, of the relevant products. Relevant products: the products listed in Annex I that contain, have been fed with, or have been produced using relevant commodities. Relevant commodities: cattle, cocoa, coffee, oil palm, rubber, soy, and wood. Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 requires that any operator trading in any of the seven regulated products (oil palm, cocoa, rubber, coffee, soy, cattle, and wood) on the EU market, or exporting them from within the EU to other parts of the world, must demonstrate that they do not originate from deforested land and were produced under the applicable legal framework of the country of origin. Prior to export, the operator must submit a declaration to the European Union stating that all production areas are free from deforestation and have complied with all applicable regulations of the country of origin. This declaration must include information such as product composition, traceability, identification, and geolocation of the production areas. The European Union will verify the declarations received, check their accuracy, and impose binding judgments against legal entities that fail to comply with this Regulation, applying sanctions in cases of non-compliance or falsification of data. MAYACERT offers the EUDR Verified ® Verification Program With this service, MAYACERT ensures that all operators and traders, whether through on-site or online verifications, comply with the obligations established in the European Union Regulation on Deforestation. Our focus is on guaranteeing responsibility in every supply chain so that only products that are deforestation-free and produced in accordance with the relevant legislation of the country of origin are placed on the market. Through rigorous monitoring and adapting to digital and technological advancements, the EUDR Verified ® Verification Program positions itself as a key ally in the fight against deforestation and forest degradation, ensuring that products entering the market meet the highest standards of sustainability and environmental responsibility. As a result, operators will be able to carry out the commercial transactions with Europe that they deem necessary, with the assurance that a specialized MAYACERT team has verified and validated the information collected about the product they wish to market in Europe.
